Editor’s Notes: Okay, I'll be the first to admit that whenever Balenciaga drops a new sneaker, I'm usually the first one to buy it. I've still got a pair of the first-ever Triple-S that dropped, and followed that up with the Track, and have also branched out to a pair of platform Crocs and so on. You get it, I'm a fan.

There are plenty of polarizing Balenciaga designs out there, but I think we can all agree that the label's latest sneaker, the Phantom, is a winner.

Taking inspiration from a classic running shoe with design cues reminiscent of a vintage New Balance or ASICS silhouette, the shoe arrives in a handful of colorways as part of Balenciaga's City series. The shoe is simple yet eye-catching, and features a perforated upper and a sleek midsole.

Ranging from a simple washed grey, to a bright neon, and pastel pink – there's an option for everyone. Of course, I'm choosing pink.

The collection's accompanying campaign showcases commuters on the London underground, each wearing Balenciaga 'fits, holding the Phantom up for display. As someone who frequently uses the tube, the seats that she shoe has been photographed on look a lot more inviting than they usually do during rush hour.

If you're looking to get your hands on the Phantom sneakers, they're currently available for purchase online on the Balenciaga website alongside a handful of city-specific pieces, as well as Paris-inspired items. Oh, and don't forget to get your hands on the Balenciaga-branded coffee cup while you're at it.
