What We’re Saying: Following teasers several months ago, Highsnobiety can now share a full, detailed look at both colorways of the BAPE x New Balance 2002R. Additionally, the two brands have finally announced a June 5 release date for the anticipated collab.

The Japanese streetwear staple has given the late ’00s running shoe the ABC camo treatment in BAPE’s classic green, as well as New Balance’s classic grey. Both sneakers feature the camouflage pattern across the base of the shoe, with BAPE’s signature shark teeth motif at the heel.

New Balance’s 2002R, which was first released in 2010 as a super-premium running sneaker with a price tag to match, was relaunched last year at a more affordable price point and a reworked sole unit (taken from the 860v2).

It has been the subject of a number of high-profile collaborations in recent months, including projects with Salehe Bembury, thisisneverthat, and Invincible and N. Hoolywood.

BAPE's impending take on the 2002R is likely to be as coveted as any, with an initial release scheduled in China and a wider launch to follow at A BATHING APE stores globally. The two colorways of the sneaker will arrive alongside a matching apparel collection that includes two full-zip hoodies, two pullover hoodies, three T-shirts, and two cargo shorts.
