Editor’s Notes: Following the official unveiling of its upcoming New Balance 2002R collaboration, A BATHING APE is debuting a forthcoming selection of Spring/Summer 2021 BAPE STAs.

This time around, we're getting six patent leather iterations of the iconic silhouette in fittingly refreshing color options. The glistening pairs opt for identical branding and color blocking, in three different shades of the same base — black, red, blue, purple, green, and pink — all coming together to form one cohesive kit. As usual, BAPE's signature star logo dresses the side, a white BAPE head sits atop the heel, and neutral white laces and midsoles streamline the look.

The highlight of this forthcoming release is the return of the patent leather upper. An early BAPE signature, the sleek veneer of the shoe takes us back to the brand's heyday when the likes of Pharrell and Nigo were carrying the 2000s' style.

The summer-ready BAPE STAs are set to arrive on May 29 for $279 each.
