Beyoncé has dropped an epic new trailer for her forthcoming visual album, Black Is King, which is slated to premiere globally on Disney+ on July 31.

After dropping the first trailer and announcement for her new visual album, Black Is King, last month, Knowles-Carter delivered the second teaser yesterday. Bey announced the project last month, sharing a one-minute teaser to her website. The new visual album is inspired by the music of last year's The Lion King: The Gift and is written, directed, and executive produced by Beyoncé. The July 31st release date will mark the one-year anniversary of the theatrical release of Disney’s The Lion King remake, for which Queen Bey voiced Nala.

Black Is King is a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience,” Disney and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment shared in a statement. “The film is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future.”

The empowering project celebrates Black excellence by reimagining The Lion King for “today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.” The film has reportedly been in production for one year now.

Beyoncé dropped the track "Black Parade" on Juneteenth. It's unclear whether the song will be featured on Black Is King. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming project, and watch the first trailer below.
