Editor's Notes: After having helped Braun to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, we're teaming up with the German brand to release our take on one of its most iconic designs: the alarm clock.
Braun is a classic for a reason, the brand changed the face of modern design through its efficiency-focused principles and radically simple designs. This meant stripping products back to their core form and crafting every item with a steadfast commitment to practicality and ergonomic design. These are values that it still holds today.
Based on the AB1, Braun's famously minimal alarm clock which was first released in 1971 while Dieter Rams was the Head of Design, its analogue alarm clock keeps the same compact shape and purist design as the original.
The design company famously operates under the mantra of “less but better” and when adding our own touch to the alarm clock, we also followed this motto. On the front of the design, co-branded detailing can be found on the bottom of the clockface in-keeping with its monochrome color scheme.
While it keeps the shape of the original, this updated model does include an improved movement with luminous tipped hour and minute hands, a crescendo beep alarm, an easy-to-read dial, and a precise yet quiet quartz movement.
Available in either white or black, the alarm clock arrives in time for the holiday season as part of the Highsnobiety Gift Shop, a selection of products that we have curated and created for the gift-giving season.

This comes in the form of its BN0032 watch, a minimal design with Braun's signature single yellow hand and its BN0278, a similar design that features an automatic watch movement equipped with a power reserve of 41 hours and a custom rotor.
