Paris Fashion Week saw the city of lights and love come alive with events and shows taking place on every corner — and it was no different at the Parisian hub of beauty brand Byredo. It was a full house on Rue Saint-Honoré from 7pm last week as the eye-catching two-floor store shone like a lavish, luminous labyrinth of Liquid Lipstick.

The makeup side of the brand, which is under the helm of Creative Image and Makeup Partner Lucia Pica, celebrated the launch of its chrome-topped Liquid Lipstick collection — and not only were members of the fashion world ready to get their shine on, but we took the new iterations out around Paris for a test drive.

Pica, who earlier this year started her Byredo journey, has put her beauty-savvy stamp on the brand’s makeup offerings so far, with the Liquid Lipsticks setting the bar high in every aspect. "In the Liquid Lipstick, there’s an idea of water, movement, and sensuality. There’s a certain stripping away of extraneous elements. I wanted to get in touch with that side of myself and bring other people to this point."

The actual lipstick vessel is a small work of art in itself, functioning as an ode to the silhouette of a nude torso, while the product (which comes in a variety of shades) is smooth, partly glossy, and moisturizing so you can really see how Pica’s delicate touch has come into play. Versatile in its conception, the Liquid Lips range isn’t actually limited to lips; in fact, it can be used to add a shimmer to your eyelids or a pop of color on your cheeks too — so it’s the perfect accessory to keep in your bag.

From founder Ben Gorham, the face of the campaign Ylang Messenguiral, and multi-hyphenate Liya Kebede to the stylish models and media personalities that flooded into the store, it’s safe to say that the Parisian home of the brand was the place to be. The bright orange statement walls, shelves decked with Byredo products, and abundance of reflective surfaces made you know what you were there to celebrate. Cocktails and food were weaving throughout the packed venue with everyone getting their chance to try and play with the new lipsticks.

It wasn’t just the event where Byredo showed up during Paris Fashion Week. The beauty brand did all the makeup behind the scenes for the Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Coperni runway shows, bringing a bit of subtle color and elegance to the final fits.

With Byredo building on its beauty division of the brand with fierce energy and becoming even more layered and lush than it already is, we’re excited to see what else the brand drops this year.
