Our fascination with celebrity couple style is one of those truths that rings eternal. Whether its Gwyneth and Brad, the nothing short of iconic fits from Britney and Justin and the red carpet antics from the Beckham’s, its brilliance just cannot be done solo and proves that good things do indeed come in two’s.

The cool couples of the past gave birth to what we now like to call “couple goals,” and since then, its influence has never really faded. In 2021, we’re living in another golden age of couple’s style.

Whether you’ve realized it or not, your favorite couples are everywhere. Their casual paparazzi shots are being turned into memes, being shared on Instagram stories worldwide, and being pinned on secret Pinterest boards.

Post-pandemic, couple’s street style has reached new heights. Over a year spent away from people has made us desperate to see people making out again – especially when they’re in an excellent outfit.

Nailing the perfect paparazzi shot seems easy at first glance, but securing what we’d like to call the “social media gold” isn’t as easy. Nowadays, we want aspirational – not unattainable. We also want to hold hands whilst sipping on an iced coffee, or go for long walks through the park in matching outfits. Celebrity couples are living our dream, and we love to watch them through our screens.

To really cement our love for the rebirth of celebrity street style in 2021, we’re taking a look at some of our favorite celebs that are serving up the best looks.

The New Classicists - Kaia Gerber & Jacob Elordi

Anything looks good when you’re tall and gorgeous, but with Kaia and Jacob, it is double trouble. Their simple off-duty looks just hit the spot, with perfectly worn denim and collegiate sweaters being staple pieces in their combined wardrobe. They are the ultimate Gen-Z pair, and Gerber’s affinity for Celine, a matching workout set, and blazers, paired with Elordi’s love for Nike training shorts and baseball caps make them the perfect mix of luxury and athleisure.

The Naturalists - Joaquin Phoenix & Rooney Mara

No couple exudes effortlessly cool quite like Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara. They are famously paparazzi shy, but have been snapped leaving a karate class barefoot together in matching uniforms, and are frequently spotted rocking the same shoes – a pair of classic, perfectly worn Converse Chuck Taylors. They might not even be trying at all, but somehow they’re always matching (which might not be that difficult when you only wear black and white).

After Phoenix’s Oscar win, the two munched on burgers together in a staircase, and the actor has also been spotted looking less-than groomed, with a Redbull in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Maybe the secret to effortlessly cool is just not caring at all.

The Curveballs - Channing Tatum & Zoe Kravitz

What initially seemed to be an unlikely pairing has turned out to be the source of social media gold. Channing has been diving head first into his selection of vintage T-shirts to match Zoe’s hot and unbothered energy, and looks like an aspiring BMX rider who happens to be a 35-year-old. Gone are the tight tees and jeans from the Magic Mike days, because now the actor tends to opt for “baggy and swaggy.” We won’t talk about his Met Gala tuxedo, though.

Whether it is riding together on a bike or shopping at Whole Foods, these two are serving casual looks for every day of the week, and the fact that Tatum follows a handful of Zoe Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram means that we’re all rooting for this couple more than ever.

The Remake - Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck

Bennifer was THE couple between 2002 and 2004, and somehow, they’re still THE couple in 2021. Not only have they nailed the “unintentionally” matching looks and “surprise” paparazzi snaps, but they are paying homage to their iconic noughties relationship. Imagine being so iconic that you can just reference yourself. We’re talking about that one recreation of the hand-on-the-ass memorable yacht pic.

Their reunion seems to be a reflection of our times, where remakes are becoming second nature. We’re obsessed with anything Y2K, and with brands such as True Religion, and Juicy Couture seeing a rebirth, as well as our favorite movies getting a remake or a sequel – it is only fitting that one of the most significant couples of 2000s had one, too.

The Disruptors - Hailey & Justin Bieber

If you could see how many people have searched for “Hailey Bieber Street Style” in the past year, the number would be in the millions. Hailey has nailed down the chic everyday look pairing a $8,900 Bottega Veneta Teddy Shearling coat with a pair of humble Nike Air Force 1s.

Justin on the other hand has pivoted from being described as a real “scum bro,” to his husband style. Nowadays, the singer mainly wears his own label Drew House, with a few occasional cameos from other streetwear labels as well as his signature hotel slippers. The two perfectly embody the model girlfriend and streetwear boyfriend aesthetic, and their combined style evolution will go down in history.

The Final Boss - Rihanna & A$AP Rocky

When it was revealed that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were dating, our minds were blown. The two are already style icons on their own and have both been in the fashion world for years working with some of the industry’s top brands, but together they seem unstoppable. Pulling up to the Met Gala in Balenciaga and ERL, shooting music videos together – you name it. There’s never a dull moment, and the two even share clothes.

When the photo of the two wearing neon fur, Rihanna in a bright pink coat and Rocky in a bold lime green hat, surfaced, they literally broke the internet. The photo was everywhere, and it was only the beginning of their reign as the world’s most stylish couple. They’re constantly pushing boundaries, and together, we’re hoping for more memorable looks and plenty more iconic moments.
