Originally launched in 2022, the Champion Senior Thesis program is designed to spotlight emerging creators. Back by popular demand, the collection, which originally launched at Art Basel, features four premium crewneck designs from three rising stars and Angelo Baque.
Queens-based designer, teacher, and life coach Angelo Baque is perhaps best known as the founder of Awake NY and the former Brand Director of Supreme. Partnering up with Champion, Baque enlists the help of Larissa De Jesus Negron, King Phade, and Uber Lopez for the Champion Senior Thesis collection.
Inspired by the concept of a single project at the end of an academic program, the Senior Thesis collection allows each designer to present a body of work that encapsulates their research, discovery, and conclusions. Beyond the products, the Champion Senior Thesis project is one more step in the brand’s larger mission to be a canvas for those who create with purpose.

Larissa De Jesus Negron
Also hailing from Queens, Larissa De Jesus Negron uses humor as a coping mechanism. Ne-surreal imagery becomes the tool with which this artist explores the complex theme of existentialism. This piece offers up a bold abstract landscape with bright blue embellishments.
King Phade
King Phade’s airbrushed T-shirts have acquired the artist a large following. As one of the first artists to commercialize graffiti art, King Phade pioneered the airbrush style. Here, he looks to celestial and Egyptian symbols for a head-turning take on the style.
Uber Lopez
Taking it to the West Coast, Uber Lopez calls South Central, Los Angeles home. Inspired chiefly by real-life experiences, Lopez brings an element of portrait work to Champion’s premium crewneck.
Angelo Baque
Last but not least, Angelo Baque. The lynchpin of the Champion Senior Thesis project fulfills his role with a typically text-heavy design.
