Another snazzy adidas loafer has entered the chat. A direct descendant of the Handball Spezial, the Handball Spezial Loafer is a sleek suede slip-on that, aside from its name, actually has very little in common with the classic sneaker.

Sure, it's a hybrid shoe by definition, but the split is hardly even. From the squared vamp to the lifted saddle, this slip-on full sends it on the loafer front. Sneaker? Never heard of it.

Ok, that's not entirely true. The rubber outsole and tonal Three Stripes does give the loafer some of that classic Handball Spezial sneaker essence.

In that same vein, the gold Trefoil pendant also represents a nice blend of adidas' signature sneaker steelo, fashioned into a standard loafer hallmark. It's the best of both worlds.

Available on the adidas website for $100, the Handall Spezial is far from the only hybrid shoe to come from the Three Stripes. Sure, adidas knows its way around a loafer or two. But it doesn't stop there.

From suave leather Mary Janes to marble ballet flats, adidas has range — and then some.

Taking it even further, the king of viral flat sneakers is also dominating across several avenues, including the furry slip-on and military boot space. There’s hardly a footwear arena adidas hasn’t touched.

adidas doesn't just want a piece of the pie, it's coming for the whole kit and caboodle.
