BAPE

Nothing quite lifts the lull of a Monday morning like the promise of a new collaborative collection for two of streetwear’s biggest, iconic, and globally respected powerhouses. Regulars in the realm of team-ups, A Bathing Ape and COMME des GARÇONS sublabel CDG reconnect for FW22 to deliver a camo-heavy collection of favorites.

When it comes to new BAPE deliveries, it’s fair to say fans have certain expectations. Rarely would the brand would ever drop a line-up devoid of camouflage, but on occasion, you might be left short of Shark Hoodies or Ape Head graphic tees. These are the staples that keep BAPE’s fanbase in a frenzy, and any collaboration worth its weight in fabric puts these center stage. Clearly, CDG got the memo.

BAPE and CDG have put their best feet forward with collections steeped in camo several times in the past without disappointment, having perfected their co-working formula. This is true of their FW22 collection, too, which spotlights a selection of pieces in red and navy as a representation of BAPE’s peak in the early 2000s.

Leading the pack are camouflage Shark Hoodies and matching sweatpants decorated with a contrasting CDG monogram, resulting in full tracksuits that are even bigger statement makers than your standard BAPE get-up.

Something that certainly shouldn’t go overlooked within the delivery is the co-branded, blacked-out BAPE STAs which feature CDG’s Helvetica print across the lateral side. Although there have been plenty of BAPE STA’s to choose from this year, these definitely take the cake.

Additional pieces – all of which are available via BAPE's Japanese site and CDG Osaka – include graphic tees, sweatshirts, long-sleeve tees, and headgear.
