Converse and New York streetwear label MadeMe are channeling the attitude of today’s NYC rebel girls, presenting a new apparel and footwear collection exclusively designed for women. The capsule serves as a celebration of countercultural style ideals and nostalgia for the '90s, centering around a platform One Star sneaker.

“A cool girl. Independent, who will take risks and not worry about what everyone else is wearing or doing,” says creative director Erin Magee. “It’s a girl who is attracted to authenticity and wants to explore street, rave, queer and 90s subculture.”

The aforementioned One Star has been remade through the lens of a '90s club kid. The sneaker is done up in reissued washed suede and a six-wale corduroy chunky ribbed fabric. Premium napa leather has also been utilized throughout, while a goat leather collar and canvas lining are noted as well. MadeMe graphics then further liven up the silhouette.

Alongside the platform One Star are multiple apparel styles, including a hooded track jacket, oversized track pant, long-sleeve tee, oversized short, and super mini backpack. Each item is designed to complement the female body, in addition to the modern idea of mix-and-match styling.

You can look forward to the MadeMe x Converse collection, ranging from $30 USD to $110 USD, to hit select retailers and converse.com beginning May 24.
