Editor’s Notes: After several years of incubation, New York-based brand DOOR is preparing to drop its inaugural Fall/Winter 2021 collection. Spearheaded by Jae Jung, the deployment of water-resistant materials and adjustable details speak to his experience as an associate designer for a well-known outerwear brand. Meanwhile, the attention paid to the way garments sit on the body is inspired by the work of artists Christo and Jean Claude, an artist couple known for draping large buildings – such as Berlin's Reichstag building – in rolls of fabric.

The Door FW21 drop, "GHOST," spans a full wardrobe of menswear/unisex staples including parkas, bomber jackets, shirting, cardigans, and cargo pants. The styling highlights a recent shift in menswear that sees genres of formal, informal, and casual-wear disintegrate in favor of a more coalescent aesthetic that pairs white ruffled shirts with silvery military-esque bomber jackets, and cropped blazers with egregiously wide split-hem cargo pants.

The details really shine in pieces like the Gio Moto Jacket below, which combines subtle iridescence and blood-red colorway with a curved opening up the back, silver-tone metal hardware, hidden inner pockets, and a slim-cropped fit.
