Highsnobiety
Double Tap to Zoom

Earlier this week, Italian motorcycle giant Ducati rolled through our Berlin store to unveil their latest masterpiece on two wheels: the XDiavel V4. Sleek, metallic, and commanding, at first glance the XDiavel V4 looks like something straight out of a cyberpunk film set, or like it should be exhibited in a brutalist design museum. It’s a low, sculptural answer to anyone looking for a laid-back cruiser but craving the heart and soul of a performance beast. Powered by Ducati’s signature V4 engine, the XDiavel V4 is lightweight, high-performance, powerful enough to entice the most hardcore motorcycle enthusiast.

The actual launch was a fully sensory experience, pulling guests straight into a world of speed and adrenaline. Inside the Highsnobiety Store, two XDiavel V4s were installed opposite one another, each one highlighting a different part of the motorcycle’s story: the XDiavel in Burning Red was set up on a sculptural platform, surrounded by banks of speakers, maximizing the event’s conceptual union of sound and sports. Ducati teamed up with sound engineers to rework engine revs, gear shifts, and mechanical textures into something abstract and atmospheric.

The bike in Black Lava was available for guests for a stylish photo-op, because who doesn’t love the feel of expertly designed Italian steel and rubber between their legs? All night long, people were living their inner moto-racer fantasies (yes, there was a fan available for hair-flipping purposes), and we wouldn’t be surprised if several new speed demons were born during the event.

Speaking of, Berlin’s Ducati fanbase came out in droves, with some even wearing branded helmets and motorcycle jackets. From novices to seasoned veterans, everyone wanted a front-row peek at the XDiavel V4.

The music portion of the evening was kicked off by a laid-back DJ set by London-based DJ Nicky Summers, who spun a blend of electro and R&B while partiers got a look at the XDiavel V4. The main attraction was a an immersive audio experience featuring DJ/producer Vegyn, who started his set by mixing sounds from the motorbike directly from the Ducati XDiavel V4 Sound System—imagine standing at the edge of a racetrack, only your favorite tunes are mixed in with all the engine vrooms and tire squeals. It was a total marriage of sound, motorsports, and design—brought together in a way that only Ducati and the most cutting-edge sonic innovators can.

After Vegyn’s mind-altering soundscapes, guests continued to interact with the XDivaels while exploring more of the in-store goodies. People walked off with a collaboration between Ducati and automotive lifestyle magazine Ramp, as well as exclusive Ducati Carrera sunglasses that were displayed across the store to try on. Along with super tasty bites and an open bar with chilled drinks on hand, everyone left with both an idea of what makes a good party, and what their life would look like if they decided to leave it all behind for the open road.
