Surely we saw this coming, right? With all the hype surrounding the capsule collection between H&M and Balmain - which promised the masses a more affordable price point for Olivier Rousteing's creations - we all knew there would be hysteria.
However, many expected something more akin to a release of a highly-sought-after sneaker from Nike or Surpreme, not a worldwide panic that turned hypebeasts into actual monsters.
While some took to Instagram to showcase how they were styling the pieces they managed to purchase (and perhaps as a proof-of-life to friends and loved ones who knew they were heading into the fray), others used the social media platform to document the chaos.
Here are the wildest scenes we've seen - ranging from bedlam in London to a certifiable track meet in Dubai: Now I've seen it all. I have seen the illest lineups for Supreme gear or Air Jordan's, but this #HMxBalmain put every one of those releases to shame. This can't be real life. SMH???? all I can say is WOW #hmbalmaination A video posted by ??BEN BALLER (@benballer) on Nov 5, 2015 at 5:38am PST
