Up until now, HOKA’s Mafate Speed 4 Lite sneaker has been difficult to find.

The first time the low-top HOKA shoe was released, the running label SATISFY dropped two collaborative variations which, like most SATISFY collaborations, sold out instantly. And that was followed up with another round of SATISFY-exclusive colorways, which hit the market with the same outcome: Instant sell-outs.

I saw the shoe’s immense popularity firsthand while attending the endurance race UTMB, where a SATISFY pop-up shop was selling out of the shoe so frequently that they couldn’t order enough.

Every day, they were getting more stock sent in which inevitably flew off the shelves as quickly as it arrived.

Thankfully, in 2025, the struggle to buy a pair of HOKA’s Speed 4 Lite sneakers won’t be so tough. Well, probably.

HOKA is launching a series of general-release Mafate Speed 4 Lite sneaker colorways. Sure, they don’t have the SATISFY logo on the toe. However, they’re the same lightweight crossover sneakers, gorgeously simple and clean.

The first of the Mafate Speed 4 Lite sneakers have slowly started to arrive at select retailers, priced at $180. They still have the high-spec trail functionality you expect from HOKA's dedicated road-running shoes, they're just a little less rare (for now).

Currently, the new range of Mafate Speed 4 Lite sneakers consists of muted black and brown colorways. However, a HOKA press preview at the end of last year unveiled some more striking variations, like lime green and lilac.

The uppers the shoes still wear the transparent ripstop that offers a window to the paneling beneath it. Layered atop is a bevy of technical no-sew overlays that maximize lightness without sacrificing durability.

It's all the good stuff us SATISFY enjoyers knew and loved from afar. But, finally, HOKA’s brilliant crossover sneaker is going to be readily available to all.
