After it was teased in February of this year, we now get our first look at the JAY-Z-produced documentary series, Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, which is a six-part examination into the infamous 2012 shooting death which gave rise to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

For the uniformed, Martin was an unarmed 17-year-old teenager in Florida who was fatally shot by George Zimmerman who was later acquitted of second-degree murder after utilizing Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law.

The documentary will be a blend of archival footage from Martin's childhood, as well as an exploration of pertinent themes like race, politics, power, money, and the criminal justice system which attempts to explain why the events of February 26, 2012 ever occurred.

Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story premieres July 30 on Paramount Network.
