Editor’s Notes: adidas Skateboarding will soon be releasing a third colorway of the Aloha Super in collaboration with skateboarding legend, Mark “The Gonz” Gonzales. This particular iteration draws inspiration from the fencing suit Gonzales wore during a 2018 recreation of his historic performance at the Städtisches Museum in Germany in 1998.
The new colorway mimics the tones of the hand-dyed fencing suit, which was originally designed to be black.
"The colors for my 2018 performance suit were intended to be the opposite of those worn during my original show in Germany, so all black,” says Mark Gonzales. “When we dyed the fencing uniform, it turned into a muted kind of grey that ended up looking really cool.”
Showcasing a signature color palette, embroidered details, and Shmoofoil logo, the fully-skateable Aloha Super releases at select retailers and through the adidas Skateboarding website on February 22. Get a closer look at the pair below.
