Double Tap to Zoom

A kid from Portland has his own sneaker. Aminé crafts impeccable tunage, but also has us captive by virtue of his missive to dream big. Crazy ideas are only crazy, until you do them. IRL. And stuff.

The magic of these shoes is that they perfectly emulate the flow of nature. The green, yellow and brown colorways represent the different stages of bananas ripening. Imaginative, out-of-the-box thinking - just the way we like it.

Since they dropped in the summer, as a hyped collab between New Balance and the creative vision of Aminé himself, they have been receiving a fair amount of attention, not to mention sales. The 'Mooz' first dropped in a single colorway, with hints of green, brown and yellow in one pair. They have evolved to split those colorful accents into separate shoes - to really get the banana reference across.

The Mini Mooz, just like their predecessor, are based on the New Balance 610s. But they are arguably brighter, sleeker and more obvious with their stylistic references to fresh (and not so fresh) produce. The beauty lies in the subtle banana cluster centre-top, the mesh panelling with subtle color shading, and of course, a trio of colors that look positively delectable.

Aminé has had quite the year, which also saw him collaborate with Kaytranada. On an album entitled 'Kaytraminé. Just when you thought neither of them could get any smoother. Pharrell rounded out this holy triumvirate on their track '4EVA'. The only thing that won't last forever, is the stock levels on this limited edition drop.

Round out the look with banana-inspired items like these sweet treats below.
