NBA All-Star Weekend is being hosted by Chicago this year, for the first time since 1988. Like every year, the Three Point Contest, the Slam Dunk Contest and Sunday’s All-Star Game are headlining a weekend full of fun events meant to celebrate the best the NBA has to offer, as well as give Chi city a chance to showcase its basketball heritage for all the world to see.

In addition to the official All-Star events, sneaker brands are readying a host of limited and special-edition releases. Every year, brands use NBA All-Star Weekend to launch special-edition colorways of on-court footwear, as well as special edition (and sometimes highly limited) lifestyle sneakers that are often highly collectible.

To help you sort through all the releases, we’ve put together a roundup of the best NBA All-Star Weekend sneakers below.

When is NBA All-Star Weekend

NBA All-Star Weekend begins on Thursday, February 13 with the annual NBA on TNT American Express Road Show and culminates in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 16.

What brands are releasing sneakers at NBA All-Star Weekend

Each year, sportswear brands use the festivities to launch special-edition sneakers and collaborative collections. Big players such as adidas and Nike typically serve up All-Star Weekend releases, while brands with a smaller basketball market share, such as New Balance, PUMA, and Reebok, use the weekend as a chance to present their latest and greatest footwear. Sometimes, brands also release non-basketball sneakers, using the event as a springboard and to get eyes on their special-edition launches.
