Editor's Notes: Just when you thought you'd be able to catch a break from the onslaught of Teddy Santis' New Balance Made In USA collection releases, another release sits comfortably on the horizon.

If we're going to discuss New Balance in 2022, it'd be disingenuous to overlook the impact that Teddy Santis has had since taking up the position of Creative Director on the Made In USA division. Frankly, it'd be impossible, given the scale of change that has followed him.

While New Balance has never been a small player (its long history and global legacy speak for themselves), it has only really exploded within the sneaker space, going toe-to-toe with the key players in the past couple of years.

We all knew that there would be a high frequency of 99x series sneakers this year. That much became abundantly clear via Santis' Instagram tease of the year ahead – plus, the silhouette is celebrating 40 years in the game.

What we may not have expected, however, is how quickly the quantities of these releases would increase, to the point nearly every colorway is available in broad size ranges online long past their initial release. For some, this cannot be overlooked, as it tarnishes the sneakers' appeal.

That being said, it's hard not to appreciate the palette swaps that Santis delivers. From deep oranges to vintage reds and blues, misses are infrequent if at all, and this upcoming look certainly doesn't miss.

Perhaps better tailored to the sunnier months of the year, cream, royal blue, and a touch of dark grey cover the silhouette from front to back, resulting in a vintage-like finish that would look comfortable in the foreground of an old-school sporting catalog.

Basically, if "Dad Sneakers" are a bit of you, look no further.
