You might not have heard of AIK Fotboll before but there's a fair chance the Swedish champions have got the best soccer jersey of 2019 — and it’s only January. The Nike AIK 1891 “black edition” jersey is a murdered-out piece of art that will look just as good off the pitch as it does on it.

The black-on-black design represents, in part, the team’s desire to get “back to business” and put their league title win from last year behind them as they focus on the new season.

1891, the year AIK was founded, has been placed front and center on the jersey in a shiny, embossed execution where the club’s sponsor would normally be. Taking things a step further, the jersey is highly-limited and housed in a luxury presentation box.

With performance sports and style overlapping more than ever, Nike and AIK might have came through with one of the most wearable, minimalist jerseys we've seen in a long time. The jersey stands in stark contrast to the eye-catching Nigeria World Cup home kit and more closely resembles the design of the Chinese away jersey (another one worth checking out).

All profits from shirt sales are being donated to the AIK Fotball Mentor program, which seeks to counter segregation through football in Stockholm suburbs.

Check out the kit above and head to Pro:Direct Soccer to pick one up when they drop today, at 4pm GMT (9 am EST).

Next, check out Nike’s latest running sneaker, which looks like it came straight out of the 2000s, here.
