Few silhouettes can match the versatility of the iconic Air Force One. Originally a basketball shoe, the design is now an undebatable all-time classic and a lifestyle essential.

But while the all-white and all-black versions dominate sales, Nike just announced the release of a QS drop which has all the makings of a classic.

The Air Force One is a shoe that suits classic colorways. There’s no denying this. But the Nike Air Force One QS Camo reminds us that the shoe’s power is not limited to monochrome.

A canvas upper features an unusual camo which really catches the eye. No digital prints or the go-to woodland camo that we’re all so used to, this iteration features a softly blended camo that makes the design a treat for styling.

Although the shoe is named after the camo, it’s arguably not the most noticeable feature of the shoe. The laces, imagined in a super hairy green fabric, steal the show.

Without dominating the design, the laces fit effortlessly with the camo, adding to the military aesthetic while introducing a fun texture. The white Swoosh mimics the texture with a (slightly less hairy) tactile suede to bring more depth to the design.

We’ve seen a lot of camouflage reworks in our time, and many of them have been great. With that said, there’s something refreshing about this Quickstrike release, using an underrated camo that we expect to see more of in the future.
