One of the greatest of all time returns to the streets this week. The Nike Air Max 95 'OG Neon' is back, and UK retail heavyweight JD is leading the drop. After a limited release last year, the 'OG Neon', widely considered the pinnacle of the Air Max 95 lineage, is getting a broader release. JD isn’t stopping at the sneakers either. The retailer has also dropped JD-exclusive Nike Air Max 95 tracksuits, completing a full head-to-toe moment rooted in British street culture.

Few sneakers hold the same weight in the UK as the Air Max 95. Intertwined in the history of ‘90s UK rave culture, it was a shoe that traversed scenes no matter the music, spilling into the streets and North of England terraces.

It's a shoe whose nostalgic stories are told over and over again—its footprint so big, its tight hold on culture has never let go, and likely never will. Capturing new audiences with every re-issue. With such an iconic history, it's hard not to repeat the past when marketing an OG. This time, though, JD has surprised everyone by pulling in none other than Louis Theroux to promote the Nike Air Max 95 'OG Neon' and the two JD Exclusive tracksuits.

Known for his uniquely disarming interview style and, more recently, for Chicken Shop Date appearances and interviews with Bob Vylan, Louis has an unmatched knack for connecting and reconnecting with every wave of youth culture. Theroux feels like a left-field choice that makes immediate sense. His cross-generational relevance mirrors the staying power of the Air Max 95 itself.

The campaign film sees Theroux receive his pair via delivery from Liverpudlian artist Kasst 8, who anchors the creative concept. The rollout extends to YouTube and Twitch collective The Bov Boys, featuring Angry Ginge, Jakey Davies, and Heinz Baines, reinforcing JD’s continued alignment with emerging UK voices.

In campaign imagery, he wears the 'OG Neon' and matching tracksuit with an ease that feels effortless, no doubt unintentionally attracting a wave of uncs to rush their local JD.

The JD-exclusive tracksuits have dropped already, with the Nike Air Max 95 'OG Neon' launching on Wednesday, March 5.

Expect queues.
