Nike Made Its Toughest Air Max Boot Into a Lovely "Cherry Blossom" Treat
Nike's next Air Max Goadome boot is a treat for the DMV.
The latest version of the rugged winter boot arrives with creamy, cherry-flavored leather uppers and a "DMV" stamp on the heel, all capped off with those cushy Air Max units underfoot.
The design is inspired by cherry blossoms, which are abundant in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia in the springtime.
Not only is the scheme a perfect nod to the area, but the boot itself is quite literally a symbol of the DMV.
Really, the DMV helped put the model on the map, so much so that D.C. native and musician Wale has a song about them. He also just recently got his own super-limited collaborative pair (finally).
Nike and Wale have gotten quite close this year, from debuting the Nike GT Future together to limited edition drops in the lyricist's hometown.
Nike even enlisted the longtime sneakerhead to help launch a pretty pink Foamposite sneaker inspired by — you guessed it — cherry blossoms.
It's unknown whether Wale will be involved in the rollout of the "Cherry Blossom" Air Max Goadome boot. But it would make a lot of sense. After all, he's "still got his Nike boots," according to his hit song.
Right now, the Air Max Goadome "Cherry Blossom" boots are expected to release on Nike's website in the spring. Perfect timing.
The Air Max Goadome has seen some pretty solid releases lately, ranging from stylishly hairy drops to these new "cherry blossom" beauties.
Dare I say, this is the best Goadome season to date.
