Say what you want about the Air Rift. But it gets nice colorways.

Just look at the "Black/Illusion Green" pairs. The latest Air Rifts feature the usual stretchy layers on the upper, this time realized in black and neon green. Nike has also thrown in some royal blue branding moments, which pairs nicely with the other colors.

Of course, it keeps its most signature touches, like the famously split toe box which made it everyone's favorite weirdo shoe. The sandal also still features its sneaker-like soles, supported by Nike Air technology.

It's just wearing another cool outfit. That's all.

The Air Rift returned just in time for the summer's weird-shoe takeover, and didn't disappoint with its color options. We've seen buckled iterations in tasty "blueberry" outfits as well as the more classic renditions in satisfying tonal olive green and "platinum" schemes.

Nike's new black pairs feature more retro-style colorblocking. It almost feels like a reminder that this Swoosh model is an "it" weird shoe from way back. And it still looks good years later.

Retailing for $116, the Nike Air Rift "Black/Illusion Green" shoes are now up for grabs on Above the Clouds' website.
