Dover Street Market

Dover Street market is turning 20 in glowing Vomero style.

The Nike x DSM Vomero 5 is a collaborative sneaker commemorating DSM's 20th anniversary.

At a glance and in regular lighting, this looks like a standard all-black Nike Vomero dad shoe. Same mesh paneling and that signature Y2K charm.

But turn off the lights, and the Nike x DSM Vomero 5's glowing star power shines through.

And I'm not being hyperbolic here!

The Nike x DSM 5's all-black exterior is complimented with "Emerald" green reflective detailing around the upper and the perimeter of The Swoosh. Real Green Lantern vibes.

Nike Vomero sneakers have been known to glow, but this Nike x DSM Vomero 5 is coming different.

A commemorative sneaker through and through, the green color is actually inspired by DSM's 20th Anniversary gemstone, an emerald. The years 2004 and 2024 are also printed on the insole and the interior of the toe tag.

The sneaker, available on Dover Street Market's website and stores on November 21 for £165 or about $209, will be accompanied by an in-store installation by the Zak Group that situates the sneaker in a cube that amplifies its glowing design.

Now, if this collaboration seems familiar, you aren't imagining things.

Not only is this not the first time DSM and Nike have teamed up, it's not even the first time the brands have collaborated on a Vomero sneaker.

Previous Nike collaborations include a mega-classic Nike Air Max 1, a haunting Dunk Low and a waffle-licious Astrograbber.

But when it comes to preferential treatment, the Vomero takes the cake.

And when the results are this snazzy, sometimes it's ok to pick favorites.
