Nike's next great shoe is rooted in mind, body, and science-backed soles. Enter the Nike Mind 001.

The Mind 001 is a new mule from the sportswear giant, designed with some of the brand's most high-tech materials like the all-new Mind tech.

See those bubbles underfoot? That's the Mind, developed by Nike's own science department. They move up and down, massaging the foot while also waking up the brain. Specifically, it helps send signals to those sensory parts that help you focus on being in the moment and aware of your surroundings.

Nike's slip-on is essentially brain food. Crazy, right?

It joins a host of other recent advanced models from the brand, including those 3D-printed Air Maxes, the GT Future, and the viral ReactX Rejuven8 clogs.

All are designed for peak performance and comfort. But the Mind 001 mule? It really makes you think.

It's scheduled to finally release on January 8 on Nike's website, with the brand offering the slip-on in four colorways, including the black options pictured above.

The mule, which retails for $95, will release alongside the Mind 002, essentially a dad shoe with the same brain power.
