Tartan Nike Shox sneakers? As if.

But they're real.

Indeed, the latest Shox TL sneaker lands with thick check-print uppers, paired with the usual sleek, wavy black overlays. And even in its preppy era, it keeps its signature Shox columns, which provide cushioning and a little bounce in your stride.

It's not the first time Nike's Shox put on a plaid suit this year. A yellow version dropped earlier this year, channeling its inner Cher from Clueless. Nike also designed a yellow plaid Air Force 1.

In a way, Nike's repeating the formula this time around. The Shox are part of a "Check Pack," which also includes an Air Max 90, Air Force 1, and Air Max Plus, all decked out in the preppy '90s-coded pattern.
