Editor’s Notes: Giannis Antetokounmpo became the first European NBA player to get a signature shoe from Nike last year. Following leaks, the brand has now given us an official look at the second model in the reigning MVP’s signature line.

Nike designed the shoe to cater to Antetokounmpo's game. “What Giannis does in space is directly connected to his body proportions,” said Ross Klein, Senior Creative Director for Nike Basketball. “What’s different about his movements is that he’s causing so much pressure when he hits those steps, like the Eurostep, that we need to help propel him and contain him further near the toe.”

Dubbed the Nike Zoom Freak 2, the sneaker retains some of the most important design details from the previous model, such as the reverse Swoosh, low-top profile, and Giannis branding, while updating the sole unit and foxing for a more aggressive aesthetic.

Those in North America will be able to purchase Giannis' new signature sneaker in the green/white Naija colorway on July 25. The black/white colorway is then scheduled to release on August 7.
