Ralph Lauren will be returning to the runway at New York Fashion Week later this year following a four-year hiatus.

According to reports, the designer will take to the runway in the Big Apple on September 8 to present his latest womenswear offering.

Ralph Lauren, who is now 83-years-old, last hosted a runway collection in NY at the city’s fashion week back in 2019, where the brand took over a ballroom on Wall Street that had been rebranded “Ralph’s Club.”

Since then, it’s been all off-calendar events for Ralph Lauren. First there was the show in California in October 2022, where the label took over the Huntington Library, before taking to New York’s Museum of Modern Art seven months prior.

Ever since Lauren has been gearing up for a return to New York Fashion Week.

Earlier this year the designer made his official runway return after a four-year absence during Milan Fashion Week, where he showcased inside Palazzo Ralph Lauren: a location the label acquired over twenty years ago.

Despite the lack of runways, that isn’t to say Ralph Lauren hasn’t been busy. The label has famously been designing suits for the upcoming Creed III, as well as sponsoring the prestigious Wimbledon tennis tournament.

To say this is Ralph Lauren’s big return to the runway would be factually incorrect. But, after a four-year hiatus from the fashion week of the city where RL was born and raised, it could well be considered as a big return home. That’s for sure.
