Earlier this month Netflix and BBC announced their upcoming adaptation of Richard Adams’ bestselling 1972 novel, Watership Down. In building anticipation surrounding the impending miniseries, Sam Smith shares his new song, "Fire on Fire," recorded for the program.

"So honoured to be a part of the new @BBCone / @Netflix adaptation of Watership Down," Smith said on Twitter. "This story is so powerful and timeless and it's been thrilling to work on a song for it. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do."

Netflix and BBC's Watership Down is told in four parts, detailing the story of two brothers who help a group of rabbits find a new home after theirs becomes threatened by humans. With a cast that includes James McAvoy, John Boyega and Nicholas Hoult, the miniseries is due out on Netflix and BBC December 22.
