Shia LaBeouf is set to play his own father in his own biopic, Honey Boy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The upcoming film was co-written by LaBeouf using the pseudonym Otis Lort. It follows the relationship between a teenage LaBeouf and his father, a former clown and recovering heroin addict.
Called Honey Boy, the film's script was described as “A child actor and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father attempt to mend their contentious relationship over the course of a decade." "Honey Boy" is a nickname given to LaBeouf by his father.
Lucas Hedges, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 2016's Manchester By The Sea, and who also appeared in Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, will play Shia.
The movie is currently in production, so the release date is yet to be confirmed.
