Stone Island

Stone Islands' credentials as a leader and innovator in garment technology are unquestionable at this point, and the prime example of this is its outerwear designs. So with the brand celebrating its 40th anniversary, it's only right they bless us with another uber-functional range to drool over.

The Italian label's SS22 collection already set the bar high with its Ripstop Paclite Jacket that can switch between being a jacket, vest, or bag. Now for its Marina sublabel, which takes the brand's obsession with materiality to a whole new level, this season has an equally impressive line-up of utilitarian designs.

Coming in either blue or black, the collection features a vest and jacket both of which flex the Gore-Tex black diamond label that is reserved for high-performance garments. Heat-taped seams, an anti-drop agent, and an outer layer crafted from recycled polyester bonded with a thin breathable and windproof membrane all come together to ensure both items are guaranteed to combat adverse weather.

Beyond the nerdy material specs, what really makes these two stand out is the crossbody bags that are incorporated in the design.

Similar to how the Ripstop Paclite Jacket can turn into a chest rig, open the zip on the front of the jacket or vest and you are confronted with two large pockets that are detachable and come together to form a crossbody bag with a strap to be worn on its own. The bags come in this season's "Reef Camo" print which is featured across the latest Marina collection.
