Highsnobiety

One day, we’ll show off fits in real life again, even if it takes a little re-learning along the way. The Highsnobiety Summer Style Guide is here to help, ensuring that lightweight pieces still result in heavyweight looks.

Much of Europe basked in a mini heatwave recently and, like many others, it had me taking a trip to the park. As well as having to remember how to dress for a (government-sanctioned) encounter with people I like, packing my tote bag for this park visit was a reminder of how much the list of day-to-day summer essentials had changed in the past year — bar the warm bottle of cheap wine.

Gone are the days when the only other things inside your tote were a bottle of sun cream and an iPhone. The 2021 tote bag is pretty much a survival kit. A bag to host medical-level equipment and sanitizing sprays.

With more hot weather on the way, we compiled a checklist of summer essentials for the strange times we live in right now. From the ubiquitous face mask to packable advanced shoes, this is the gear that'll make long days in the sun stress-free.

Scroll for nine 2021 summer essentials.
