Coming off the most successful film in the series, The Purge: Election Year, creator James DeMonaco returns alongside director Gerard McMurray to detail how the night of mayhem began in The First Purge.

The film takes a look back at the inception of the New Founding Fathers of America and the 12-hour period designed to push the crime rate below one percent. As could be expected, the demonstration is a ticking time bomb, exploding beyond the trial city borders to all across the nation.

Get introduced to the movement that began as a mere experiment in The First Purge, starring Y'Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Lauren Velez, and Marisa Tomei. The film lands in theaters July 4.
