Two major Keanu Reeves-starring action franchises are returning to the big screen — John Wick: Chapter 4 and The Matrix 4 — and, as luck would have it, they have been scheduled for the same 2021 release date.
Warner Bros. announced that Matrix 4 — named The Matrix: Resurrections — starring the 55-year-old actor, will be released on May 21, 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter. And Lionsgate also informed fans the next John Wick installment will debut on the same day.
Yesterday, entertainment media platform IGN took to Twitter to point out the uncanny box office crossover. Noting that fans will get to see Reeves reprise two of his most iconic roles, the unstoppable hitman, John Wick, and The Matrix's Neo, on the very same day.
Reeves fans are already gearing up for the double feature and have dubbed May 21, 2021 "Keanu Reeves Day."
Of course release dates that far in advance are subject to change, but for now fans of the franchises and Keanu Reeves fans alike can mark their calendars for May 21, 2021.
