A new trailer for the TV adaptation of Stephen King's book The Mist has arrived, and it looks like the show is going to be a complete gore-fest.

The 10-episode psychological thriller series centers on a small-town family that is torn apart by a violent crime, before things take an altogether stranger turn.

As they deal with the fallout of the crime, an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting the town off from the rest of the world. Friends and adversaries alike become bizarre bedfellows (there's some raunchy sex scenes teased in the trailer, too) as they battle the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.

How closely the show will stick to the original novella remains to be seen, but it looks like this is going to be one hell of a ride anyway. Watch the new trailer above and the first one down below.

In other news, Banksy has unveiled a massive European Union flag mural in Dover.
