Editor’s Notes: The winner of 2017's Vans Asia Custom Culture Competition, Felix Shaozi, was given the opportunity to transform his paper designs into a physical pair of Vans sneakers, the result of which you can see up top. Bold, bright, and playful, his vision sees the classic Authentic silhouette plastered with the smiling face of a green and red alligator.
Explaining the idea behind his design, Shaozi said creating a shoe with universal appeal was at the forefront:“The initial idea of this design is to make it appealing to a large audience while also bring the Vans spirit alive."
He continued, "I think Vans is a brand with the most creative spirit, so I hope the shoes designed by me also carry that same spirit."
