Editor’s Notes: Vans is following last month's MoMA collaboration with a second collection alongside the famed art museum. This time around, the assortment spotlights works by Jackson Pollock, Edvard Munch, Lybov Popova, and Faith Ringgold.

Standout pieces by these artists have been transferred onto Vans footwear and apparel styles, including the Authentic, Era, Sk8-Hi, and Slip-On.

“Our collaboration with MoMA is a true partnership that involved working together to select both the works and footwear to ensure an authentic connection between the art and the canvas footwear models we chose,” said Angie Dita, Vans Head of Global Footwear Design for Lifestyle Footwear. “Faith Ringgold worked closely with both the Vans design and MoMA teams to story tell through the details, bringing in quilted borders to contextualize her work atop Vans.”

A renowned painter, writer, sculptor, performance artist, educator, and activist, Faith Ringgold is most recognized for her work targeting racism and social injustice. Her feminist poster art, including Woman Free Yourself and Freedom Woman Now, is incorporated onto the Vans Era, specifically highlighting the affirmative demands called during the arrest of Angela Davis. Additionally, the artist's Seven Passages to a Flight from the 1990s serves as the inspiration for a new Slip-On colorway.

Other entries from the second Vans x MoMA collection include an Authentic with all-over print referencing Jackson Pollock's One: Number 31, an iteration of the Era covered in Edvard Munch's best-known work, The Scream, and an avant-garde Sk8-Hi featuring Lybov Popova's Untitled from 1917.

The art-centric collaboration also consists of multiple apparel and accessories styles, ranging from T-shirts and hoodies, to hats, backpacks, and more.
