Brand: Weekday

Season: SS19

Key Pieces: Recycled denim pieces including the minimalist, workwear-inspired Grind jacket with dropped shoulders, wide, spread collar, and contrasting threads, Quiet sweatshirt with large recycling symbol print at the back, and oversized slumber shirt.

Editor's Notes: Today marks the launch of high street retailer Weekday's limited edition, 100 percent recycled collection in collaboration with Recover. The pieces are a combination of modern workwear and loungewear that celebrates our power to make sustainable decisions.

The small edit spans everything from headwear to ’90s-inspired cargo denim jeans in neutral dark blue, brown, and beige coloring, all made from 100% recycled denim fabric.

"Together with Weekday, we really want to push the limits of low-impact textiles," says Recover business developer Hélène Smits of the collection. "This collaboration is one example of how we can create new, more sustainable materials so consumers can make better choices and a positive impact."

For the uninitiated, Recover has been making upcycled yarns that turn textile waste into valuable new materials since 1947, saving over 60.7 million kg of CO2 emissions in the process.
