British rapper, singer and actress.

She describes her music as rap and experimental. Whilst she is closely affiliated with the grime genre, she has also pulled inspiration from other genres including reggae, blues, synth-rock and jazzy R&B.

Authoritative and lyrical rapper Little Simz has become one of the most notable voices in hip-hop since her debut at the top of the 2010s.

2010

Simz’ acting career began with the role of Vicky in the BBC children’s series “Spirit Warriors”, and as Meleka in the E4 television series, “Youngers”.

2010-2013

She self-released her first four mixtapes. Stratosphere, Stratosphere 2, XY.Zed, and the particularly well-received “Blank Canvas” were followed by a slew of EPs.

2015

She was crowned Breakthrough Artist of the Year at BBC DJ Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards.

In september she released “A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons”, considered her first true LP.

2016

She releases “Stillness in Wonderland”, a concept album, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, that reflected upon the ups and downs of young adulthood and her adjustment to fame.

2017

She opened for Gorillaz and featured on the song “Garage Palace”.

2018

She releases “Grey Area”. I 2020 won Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards.

2019

In 2011 she was originally cast for the role of Shelley in Channel 4 tv series Top Boy. After one season the show was cancelled but in 2019, Drake revived it by helping sell the series to Netflix, which produced two more seasons. With a fourth one set to release early in 2023.

She also released “Grey Area“, and was nominated for the Mercury Prize, and IMPALA’s European Independent Album of the Year Award.

2021

She entered the U.K. album chart at number four with “Sometimes I Might Be Introvert”.

2022

Released on thee 12th of December, it’s her fifth studio album fifth studio album, “No Thank You”.
