Tune in and turn up

Kendrick Lamar was the guest at a Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston, where the rapper sat down for an immersive live interview. In addition to discussing his new album DAMN. and his career, Lamar gave a shout out to former NFL-player Colin Kaepernick to voice his support for the athlete and his protest. Watch his comments at the 4:04 mark in the video below.

Kaepernick was brought up after the rapper was fielded a question about impact for future generations. “[He] wants to stand for something,” Lamar says, “Simple as that. You don’t look at the moment, whether it’s gonna work or not. No, you look at what the next generation is gonna receive from it.”

Lamar is but the latest figure to voice his support for Kaepernick. Most recently, JAY-Z wore a jersey bearing the athlete’s name during his performance on SNL. Revisit that moment below.

In other music news, Tyler, The Creator and Kali Uchis unveiled an acoustic cover of their single “See You Again.” Listen to it right here.
