Editor's Notes: Fresh off the back of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection's release, A-COLD-WALL* latest collection with Dr. Martens has been unveiled, spotlighting two updated takes on classic footwear silhouettes.

ACW's relationship with Docs continues to blossom season-to-season, as Samuel Ross' exploration of British subculture and traditional workwear deepens. Through his lens, leather staples like the 1460 boot and 1461 shoes have received some of their most desirable refits in recent history.

From the partnership's first-ever drop, the distinctive edge and often industrial focus of ACW presented itself with a stripped-back, structural aesthetic that was developed with each release.

With a 1460 and two versions of the 1461 handled, the duo has set sights on alternative styles of these two classic footwear shapes in the Rikard 8-eye boot and Rikard 3-eye shoe.

Both styles sit upon the new double-stacked Bex Neoteric sole, which is a reduced version of the Quad Neoteric platform that was launched last year. This sole largely steals the focus thanks to its deep cleating and exaggerated side profile, which gives these pairs a markedly more aggressive aesthetic than the more streamlined looks of previous drops.

Sharp, deconstructed detailing has been carried across to Spring/Summer 2022, with angular features once again adding new depth to the smooth black leather uppers. Reflective panels decorated with ACW branding appear across both styles, while DM's signature yellow welt stitching and heel loop add a layer of familiarity.

Clean detailing elements like enclosed ghillie lacing and deep ridged stitching along the toebox finish off the utilitarian constructions.
