Brand: Acne Studios

Season: SS19

Key Pieces: The standout garments from Acne Studios' SS19 men's collection are cut and constructed as if they are something else; natural fabrics appear to be fake and layering alters perception.

Editor’s Notes: Acne Studios delivers purposeful misinterpretations with its SS19 men's collection.

“I wanted to experiment with the definition of garments. What would happen if, when you described a pair of jeans, you were actually talking about a blouson? It was the beginning of a new set of archetypes, around which we built a wardrobe that plays with the idea of misinterpretation,” says Jonny Johansson, Creative Director of Acne Studios.

In addition to jeans cut as a blouson, we see a neon yellow suit in linen, an M-1965 field jacket cut as a city coat, a neon yellow vest knitted like a bathroom loofah, sweaters with the texture of towels, white waxed cotton trousers layered with neon mesh, tech jackets tailored as tuxedos in light nylon, loafers made like sponges, sneakers with a racer shape and chunky front, and bags woven like blankets.
