Key Features: Coming in two vibrant colorways, the Made in England NB991 has been reworked by AriesArise to include materials such as pearlised leather, fluorescent mesh, and brightly-colored suede. Bespoke AriesArise branding is seen on the heel as well as on the insoles of the shoes. The apparel collection mirrors many of the colors found on the two sneakers, with phrases such as “Unbalanced” emblazoned across some of the pieces.

Editor’s Notes: London-based AriesArise has teamed up with New Balance on a collection comprising two Made in England 991 sneakers and matching apparel (including T-shirts, socks, sweaters and sweatpants). The collection features the word “unbalanced” on several of its pieces. The collaboration is inspired by the moment in time that sportswear became fashion.
AriesAris creative director Sofia Prantera tells Highsnobiety, “My father is a keen runner and has collected the most amazing array of running shoes, so the colourway were a direct inspiration from his 90’s archive.
“The term “Unbalanced” came together once we started the design process. It seemed to fit perfectly as an Aries graphic but also as slogan to promote inclusivity and unpredictability and the way sportswear is evolving as the new uniform for everyday attire.”
Famed photographer David Sims worked on the campaign imagery, to which Prantera says, “We used this collaboration to experiment with conventional visual communication creating video and gifs as opposed to stills which is how we had worked in the past.”
The AriesArise x New Balance “Unbalanced” pop-up features a visual installation by six different visual artists using imagery by David Sims and opens in London on Friday the 25 of October.
