Discogs reports that a limited-edition record cover produced by Banksy has sold for $10,256. The record in question is the limited-edition sleeve of Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp's album Melody A.M. This is the highest price ever paid on the online music database and marketplace.

The record pales in comparison to his Devolved Parliament painting which fetched $12,142,893 at auction earlier this year, and it didn't generate the same astronomic hype as Love Is in the Bin. Nevertheless, the rare record (one of 100 that Banksy spray-painted by hand for the Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp in 2002) is a significant object of music and art history.

ArtNews reports that Discogs’s second-most-expensive record is a 7-inch single of the Beatles’ “Love Me Do” from 1962, which sold for $9,220.

Banksy‘s former agent and photographer, Steve Lazarides, recently shared several never-before-seen-images of the anonymous artist in action. Take a look here.
