Welcome to Face Value, Highsnobiety’s monthly guide to the best new beauty products and the brands behind them.

In addition to May flowers, April brought a slew of new beauty products. Highsnobiety is fortunate enough to test out the latest from our favorite skincare, hair care, fragrance, and makeup brands. Each month, we take on the difficult task of narrowing the industry's bevy of fresh offerings down to just five standout products (it's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it).

From Byredo's dreamy new eyeshadow palette to Acne Studio's very first fragrance, these are the April beauty buys worth adding to cart.

Dr. Idriss - Soft Wash Daily Complete Cleanser

Dr. Idriss, AKA PillowtalkDerm (AKA TikTok's favorite board-certified dermatologist), launched her very own brand back in 2022. Two years later, she's adding a fifth product to its lineup: Soft Wash Daily Complete Cleanser, a jelly-like face wash that dissolves makeup, sunscreen, and grime without drying out your skin. It's also formulated with poloxamer, a cleansing agent in contact lens solution, so you can wipe off mascara and eyeshadow without fear of burning your eyes.

Byredo - Mineralscapes Eyeshadow Palette

In 12 earthy shades, Byredo's Mineralscapes palette is inspired by the landscape of Sweden, the brand's birthplace. Mossy greens, deep blues, and iridescent nudes are suited to both statement-making and subtle eye looks.

Arquiste - Friend of the Night

Florals? For spring? Arquiste's new 36-ounce, five-wick candle is inspired by the blooms that grow in founder Carlos Huber's native Mexico. An intoxicating blend of tuberose, ylang ylang, and orange blossom, the candle is hand-poured in a sculptural vessel that holds its own as an art object.

Acne Studios - Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle

Earlier this month, Acne Studios launched its inaugural perfume with renowned fragrance house Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. "It feels innocent at first, but then it's so magnetic that you forget the innocence really quickly," Frédéric Malle himself said of the scent. Classic with a twist, the perfume — straightforwardly dubbed Acne Studios par Frédéric Malle — features an overdose of aldehydes (a class of soapy, clean-smelling chemicals featured in iconic fragrances like Chanel No. 5 and Lanvin Arpège) tempered with peach, orange, and vanilla.

Bulgari - Chill and Sole

Bulgari's Chill and Sole is summer in a bottle. A blast of sunshine-y citrus, the fragrance opens with notes of orange blossom and lemon — it's impossible to not feel optimistic after giving this one a spritz.
