Chances are that you probably recognize artist extraordinaire Bob Ross from the meme world. Of course, his real claim to fame was hosting the popular PBS series The Joy Of Painting where he taught everyone how to paint nature scenery step-by-step. Over the course of 11 years, he created more than 1,000 landscapes and the canvases had yet to surface anywhere outside of our screens.

The New York Times recently set out on an investigation to find out where Ross' iconic work has been hidden since his death in 1995. Turns out that Joan Kowalski, the daughter of one of his old painting student, Annette, is in possession of the collection as the president of Bob Ross Inc.

Apparently, all of the pieces are being preserved in crates and boxes within the company's headquarters in Herndon, Virginia. According to the Times, none of Ross' pieces are currently for sale, but will soon be on display at the Smithsonian National Museum Of American History. Stay tuned here for more updates on Ross' legacy and watch the full interview above.
