Bristol Studio and New York Sunshine are both well known for merging sport with art and design. For their new collaboration, the two brands continue this exploration by fusing workwear and sportswear.

Dubbed "Hammer," the project is a nod to the ubiquitous tool, as well as the "hammer screen" in basketball. More specifically, John Margaritis looks to his background in construction, while Bristol Studio creative director Luke Tadashi pushes the boundaries of what a sportswear garment can be.

Bristol Studio and New York Sunshine's "Hammer" collection consists of three pieces. First, the classic workwear pant features printed detailing across the leg and back pockets, while welcoming an orange mesh hem. To complement, a hoodie and T-shirt are printed with signatures to both brands in "BR–STOL STUD–O + INSTALL TEAM." The tops also note mesh hems.

“The idea came about when I thought back to my childhood, wearing baggy jerseys under a hoodie or a T-shirt. The mesh would poke out of the bottom of the garment and it was always something I wanted to recreate,” says Tadashi.

The Bristol Studio x New York Sunshine "Hammer" capsule launches Friday, February 22, at 12 p.m. EST exclusively online.
