Since 1977, the McDonald’s All American Game has served as the ultimate proving ground for high school basketball, showcasing future legends before they hit college and the NBA. Continuing a long-standing tradition of releases around the event, adidas honors the annual showcase with a bold performance retro, introducing the adidas Crazy Energy McDonald’s All American.

This release captures the energy of grassroots basketball culture. The aggressive mid-2000s hoop silhouette gets a signature Golden Arches redress. It’s so bold it feels like something that could only have come from the nineties or noughties, like its been lifted directly from Space Jam.

Dressed in the iconic red and yellow, the shoe commands attention with McDonald’s branding integrated implicitly into the upper’s sculpted architecture.

A lightweight synthetic upper features molded wave paneling designed to mimic fast-break motion, accentuated by the heatmap-style colorway which blends McDonalds’ yellow and red into a palette that stands on its own.

This shoe first hit socials in April after those who actually played in the competition received a pair. Now, though, it seems that the out-there design is getting a wider release for the public.

The adidas Crazy Energy McDonald’s All American celebrates the future stars of the game first and foremost, but it’s always exciting when we find out that a previously exclusive release has earned its place in retailers.
